Superior Walls Foundations
Superior Walls Foundations are custom designed and built to demanding specifications to be dry, warm, and smart. Superior in every way.
Superior Walls Foundations are a patented pre-cast concrete panel created in a controlled factory environment and delivered to the home site where the panels are carefully locked together and permanently sealed.
The walls feature a continuous layer of rigid foam insulation bonded directly to the concrete resulting in a highly energy efficient and warm basement. The concrete is reinforced with steel rebar, making it stronger than traditional foundations. Superior Walls Foundations special 5000-psi concrete mix is moisture resistant. With the specified crushed stone sub footer and perimeter drain, water is directed away from your foundation, helping to keep your home dry.

Country Road Log Homes
White Oak Custom Log homes uses the log system of Country Road Log homes. No other log home company can offer you the technology that Country Road Log Homes can offer. Country Road Log Homes' engineers have developed exclusive features virtually eliminating the major problems that continue to plague others in the log home industry. They have two US patents to prove it.
The logs are 8"x12" Eastern White Pine. The post and beam interior construction, which is included in every log home package, consists of 8"x12" drop beams and 8"x12" support posts. The ceiling joists which double as floor joists for the second floor are 4"x12" massive when compared to other log home packages. Country Road Log Homes feature a four way lock corner. It is part of the patented inter-locking corner, which eliminates any shifting making the log kit easier to build, and ensures a plumb wall. The most radical and greatest feature of the Country Road log wall is the continuous "through rod wall construction". At the factory, each log is pre-bored (sixteen inches on center). After the logs are stacked, a 5/8" threaded rod is inserted from top to bottom, sixteen inches on center along the complete length of the wall. When the rods are tightened, obviously the compression realized is tremendous. Because of the unique design and innovation, the wall can be tightened again a year from now after all shrinking and settling is over. This eliminates the major problem with log homes today
the gapping between logs allowing air and water infiltration.
For "do-it-yourselfers" the Country Road Log Home is the simplest log home package to erect in the industry today. If you can stretch a string, read a level, insert a threaded rod and attach a nut and washer, you can build a Country Road Log Home!

Insulspan Structural Insulated Panels
Structural insulated panels (SIPS) are composed of a core of expanded polystyrene (EPS) solid foam insulation laminated between oriented strand board (OSB) sheathing. The benefits of using SIPS are faster construction, reduced jobsite waste, superior strength, and unparallel energy efficiency. The SIPS are an environmentally friendly green product. The OSB is derived from short growth renewable tree crops. The EPS insulation does not contain any CFCs, HFCs, or formaldehyde or produce harmful off-gassing.

Building For Your Future
You've probably seen your own home increase in value and add to your wealth. But a second home - whether for pleasure or investment - can offer you another way to invest in your future while you benefit now from tax breaks.
New statistical research indicates that second home investments are on the upswing, especially among homeowners who use them as a higher yielding bet than mutual funds or 2% certificates of deposit.
Much of the recent attraction of second homes, according to Beers, has been their superior appreciation gains compared with competing investments. Whereas stock portfolios and retirement accounts have lost 25-35% of their value since 2001, the median values of homes has soared.
The most recent report from the federal agency that tracks resale values in 180 markets around the country suggested that the average home has increased in value by 38% in the last 60 months alone. Most of the prime second-home states --those with recreational and resort communities, like the Hocking Hills, within a two to three hour drive of large cities -- have seen even higher appreciation.
A full 28% of buyers anticipated their second home to be converted into their retirement home at some point. Such a conversion could have substantial tax-saving advantages, opening up the $250,000 and $500,000 federal capital gains exclusions for resale profits on primary residences to those buyers. Second homes do not qualify for the exclusions.
Nineteen percent of recent buyers said they were trying to diversify their investments, according to the survey, and 8% reported that they had "extra money to spend". Some of that extra money, no doubt, came from refinancing their primary residences and pulling out cash.
With interest rates lower than they've been in years there has never been a better time to invest your money into something you can enjoy and be proud of - your dream log home. Live the dream.
